به طور کلی در صورت استفاده ناصحیح از این دستگاه می تواند خطراتی را متوجه اپراتور و مالک کند ممکن است دستگاه های بویلرهای بخار دچار انفجار شوند و این خود علل متعددی می تواند داشته باشد. به دلیل فشار بالای موجود در دیگ هنگامی که وسایل کنترلی به درستی وظیفه خود را انجام ندهند و دیگ از فشار مطمئنه که در طراحی و ساخت مورد نظر بوده است به فشار بالاتری تجاوز کند می تواند باعث بروز حوادث ناگواری گردد.

هم چنین اگر آبگیری دستگاه با مشکل مواجه شود و پس از کارکرد طولانی مدت بدون آب بطور ناگهانی آبگیری شود باعث بروز حادثه و انفجار می گردد.
